Fort Barton - Print Perfect!

Fort Barton Elementary School - Grades K-2

Exploring Printmaking-using a variety of materials, students will create prints with single, multi-colored and nature inspired images. Students will put prints on cloth, in an accordion book story and with a personally created rubber stamp.  There will be many opportunities to explore the creative process of printmaking and find inspiration through books, nature, collaboration and play.

Classes are every Wednesday beginning October 3, 2018 and ending November 14, 2018. Class dates are 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 11/7 & 11/14 - NO CLASS on 10/31 Halloween

All classes this fall are 6 weeks

Fort Barton - Rockin' Robots

Fort Barton Elementary School - Grades 3 & 4

Robotics class for kids! - this 6 week program will teach students about robotics and help them discover a passion for it!  Class begins by learning robotics basics and drawing your own robot. Class continues by learning about simple machines and how they will help make your robot move and groove! Finally class will be completed with the creation of your own Rockin' Robot.  Students will work on laptops using a MODKit program to create their robot.

Classes are every Wednesday beginning October 3, 2018 and ending November 14, 2018. Class dates are 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 11/7 & 11/14- NO CLASS on 10/31 Halloween

Pocasset - Under The Sea Art-Venture

Students will create a different art project each week related to animals & creatures that live under the sea. Turtles, dolphins, fish, seahorses, starfish…all created with paintings, paper, clay & many more exciting materials!Fun for all skill levels! A great class for exploring new and different mediums to create a unique under sea art-venture!

Classes are every Tuesday beginning October 2, 2018 and ending November 13, 2018.  Class dates are 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30 & 11/13 NO CLASS NOVEMBER 6, 2018, Election Day

Pocasset - You Should Be Dancing!

Hip Hop Lessons-during this class students will be exposed to a variety of the newest hip hop moves and learn a new piece of choreography each week.  They will learn to express the musicality and feeling of a new song each week.  No dance experience needed!

Ranger - Art Meets Science!

Ranger Elementary School - Grades K-2

Lets have a blast thinking and acting like the creative artistic scientists that we already are! Using paints and simple household kitchen items, we'll create and explore colorful reactions. As a group we will predict outcomes, explore the process of experimentation and examine results. We'll draw our findings in our journals at the end of each class. Fun projects to include homemade playdough, baking soda and vinegar painting, marbling with oil and water and elephant toothpaste and more!

Classes are every Thursday beginning October 4, 2018 and ending November 8, 2018.  Class dates are 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1 & 11/8

Tiverton Middle - Who Am I Anyway

Tiverton Middle School - Grades 5-8

Who Am I Anyway is designed to engage adolescents in grades 5-8 with a focus on self-awareness through performance/creative art education, somatic/mindfulness technique and group discussion. This program works with big themes:  peer pressure, bullying, substance abuse, acceptance, tolerance, and identifying the social/emotional stressors of normal adolescent behavior while at the same time using an arts integrated template to weave in creative ways to cope with big theme issues-and invite a creative spark of learning. This project is designed to be transformative, educational and creative.

This class begins Tuesday, October 23, 2018 and runs for 14-16 weeks.  The end date is tentative and depends on the availablity of the theater at the high school.  End dates will be announced as class progresses.

Students will meet each Tuesday outside the middle school and walk together to the high school theater.

This class will end with a performance, dates of the performance will be announced toward the end of the session.

This class is free thanks to a generous grant from the Tiverton Prevention Coalition
