This 12 week class meets on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30pm in the Tiverton High School Auditorium/Theater. Class begins Tuesday January 23 and runs through Tuesday April 30th. The program is integrated with art making (creating life size self portraits) and will conclude with a performance of Broadways Jr. "Raise Your Voice" featuring songs and dances from some of the most popular Broadway shows. Students will create original dialouge in between songs, and have their art work on display in our "gallery".  Class meets on: 1/23/24,1/30/24,2/6/24,2/13/24,2/27/24,3/5/24,3/12/24,3/19/24,3/26/24,4/9/24,4/23/24,4/30/24 ( last class, performance and art gallery).  Class fee covers all supplies, materials, rights and royalties. Sibling discount is available. This class is available for grades 5-8 and grade 4 by invitation. Please note this class includes singing, acting and dancing as well as art integration.

The CORE Organization is honored to partner with Strategic Preventions and Newport County Prevention Coalition to create a special theater arts class integrated with social emotional learning and using the performing arts as a tool to promote creativity and wellness. This class is open to all students in grades 2-4.  The class meets on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30pm.  The class meets on Tuesday April 23rd, 30th, May 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th with a special IN SCHOOL performance for families on June 5th. Students will work in the theater arts- they will write their own short play, work on music( singing) and will also incorporate elements of social emotional learning.  Teaching artists Gloria Crist and Ashley Aadland- Lessa will lead the class.  This class will max out at 25 students.  The class is supplemented by a grant from Newport County Prevention Coalition.  The $20 fee is to cover all supplies and materials.
